A small, private, property management office in Carbondale, CO seeks a full time professional CPA to handle the financial day-to-day operations for the family office.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of and familiarity with NetSuite software program.

Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.

Good analytical skills and ability to evaluate business problems.

Must have the ability to be very proactive with problem solving.

Family office experience not required but preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related major.

CPA designation required.

5 years or more experience in account management required.

Duties:

Daily: Maintain comprehensive, logical, and organized systems of accounts. Respond to emails, answer questions from other staff members, employees, and the principal. Maintain record keeping, files, and notes for ongoing jobs, quotes for special projects and ongoing jobs. Get approvals from principal and managers on manager items, bids, invoices and reports.

Weekly: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable. Check run includes printing checks, mailing, accounts payable. 60-80 checks per week.

Bi-weekly: Payroll review and reconciliation (approximately 34 employees), summary report reconciliation, funding report, bank deposits and summary of receipts, wire transfers, etc.

Monthly: Credit card reconciliations, petty cash reports, reports on payables, reports on CAM charges, review and correct G/L detail, allocate each month. Bank reconciliations for several open accounts.

Other/Ongoing duties: Providing reports for returns, other special projects as assigned. Handle broker and other insurance services, gather necessary information in order to create any requested spreadsheets. Maintain rental spreadsheet, year-end adjusting entries, tax document preparation. Workers compensation insurance, audits, claims, and employee relations. Keen attention to detail and accuracy is of paramount importance, as is the need for discretion in keeping sensitive information confidential.

Will work closely with an accounting clerk to be hired as well, recommendations encouraged.

Communication with other professionals: It will be expected to communicate, correspond, and maintain professional and courteous relationships with other professional vendors including but not limited to: real estate agents, investors, CPAs, insurance brokers, lawyers, and/or bankers.

Salary/Benefits: Starting salary is $80K+ depending on experience. Reduced rent rates in employee housing for eligible employees, health insurance benefits are not included at this time.
